Mad Crow Grove is owned and operated by Mad Crow Farm & Ranch. We are a small independent family business located in Burleson County, Texas. Our small grove currently produces varieties including Pawnee, Cape Fear, Oconee, Sugar Hill, Choctaw, Kiowa, Jack Doby, Desirable, GraTex, GraKing and Podsednik. While supplies last, our fresh crop, shelled pecan halves and pieces are available starting in October at the Farmers Market located on the Burleson County Courthouse Square in Caldwell, Texas. Our mature orchard of over 500 pecan trees is located just 4 miles south of Palestine, Texas on fertile sandy loam soil. With over 400 trees irrigated, our trees consistently produce thousands of pounds of delicious Texas pecans each season in several varieties including Pawnee, Desirable, Stewart, Kiowa, Choctaw, and Cheyenne.
Our family owned business is dedicated to producing a high quality product. We’ve developed our growing guidelines in line with the Horticulture Department at Texas A&M University, taking advantage of their expertise.
Fertilizing and harvesting are both carefully done using our own equipment. Once harvested, the nuts are cleaned and sanitized, then cracked, shelled, inspected and packaged in our climate controlled HACCP certified pecan plant.
In addition to preparing our own pecans for sale, we custom crack and shell pecans for customers near our plant who have their own trees.

Comal Pecan Farm

We run Comal Pecan Farm Store from Sept to end Dec and part-time during the summer months. It’s a full-feature store with retail area full of pecan candies, pecan oils, pecan tools, treats, and shelled halves, plus an inshell area where our customers get to taste the various varieties and pick the inshell pecans they like. We sell our pecans inshell and offer cracking service to the customer for their pecan purchase.
