• 1 cup pecans
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
  • Salt, to taste


In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix pecans, butter and salt. Place pecans in a shallow pan and place in a 400 degree F. oven. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring every 2-3 minutes. Cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Variation: Add one of the following and cook as above:

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 2-3 drops Tabasco
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2-3 teaspoons sugar

Use to garnish vegetables, salads or casseroles.
